High intensity discharge (HID) stands for gas discharge at extremely high operating pressure and temperatures, and therefore for high light efficiency. This is the principle of the Xenon lamp: The gas discharge is initiated by a high-voltage ignition pulse and transferred in an electric arc between two electrodes. The start is conducted by the ignition module from SUMIDA AG. With the development of new and innovative concepts, we are safeguarding our leading role in the area of Xenon igniters for the future.
